- It wasn't too long ago when kids didn't need to worry about
- their privacy being invaded. All they had to do was close their
- bedroom doors and the real world became a faraway place.
- With the increased use of telephone solicitation, mailing
- lists and databases, camcorders and other recording equipment, and
- computer storage of personal information, however, kids in the
- 1990s need to be aware of what constitutes an invasion of their
- privacy.
- "Your Privacy" presents a reflective analysis of privacy
- issues, from basic constitutional rights and protections, to
- privacy in the home, at school, on the job, and on computers.
- Though Dolan relies heavily on just a few sources and totally
- disregards the abuses that can occur on computer networks such as
- the Internet, or the availability of encryption software to
- maintain computer security, the book is satisfactory as a general
- introduction to privacy issues and to warn kids to protect
- themselves, as well as those around them. Recommended for both
- schools and libraries. Grade C+.
